The engine won’t start or the engine shut down suddenly

THE ENGINE WON’T START OR THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN SUDDENLY

 

  1. If we’re close to the coastline / rocks and the boat is drifting towards them, we immediately drop our anchor.
  2. We check that the shift is in neutral.
  3. We make sure that the kill cord is in place.
  4. We make sure that we didn’t run out of fuel.
  5. We check that our propeller hasn’t been entangled with ropes, bags or any other items that might hinder its free rotation.
  6. We press the fuel pump a few times until we can feel that it has received some fuel.
  7. We check our console indications and gauges.
  8. If the problem persists, we contact the office.
